The annual Harvest Supper took place on Friday 10th October, with approx 90 locals attending, ranging from the very young members of our community to our very senior citizens, with everyone joining together to make this a night to remember.
The supper was also an opportunity to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War and, as a mark of respect, Mrs Heather Price, the Chairman of the Hall Committee, started proceedings by asking everyone to observe a minutes silence in respect of all who lost their lives, their loved ones and friends during this terrible time.
The food, as usual, was delicious, home-made soup, scrumptious bread rolls from our own local baker, Caroline, meat, salads and, of course, the vast array of mouthwatering puddings kindly provided by the community. A feast by anyone’s standards!!! Our entertainment for the evening was led by Sioned Davies playing two beautiful pieces of music on the harp, always a delight. Lynda Probert read a moving and thought provoking poem from the 1st World War and then we had a sing along with the band, Undecided, with songs of that era. Christopher Davies had put the words up on a screen for everyone to follow and join in. Lots of fun. All in all, a memorable occasion, and another successful Harvest Supper for the community.
